Wednesday, May 7, 2008PANCAKE DAY Lamotte Township Fire Department is having its first annual Pancake Day, Saturday, May 10 from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Menu includes pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy and assorted drinks. Children under five are free. MUDD TO SPEAK Thomas Mudd will speak about his great-grandfather, Dr. Samuel Mudd on Tuesday, May 20 at 7 p.m. at the Marlette City Hall. Dr. Mudd treated John Wilkes Booth after the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. Public invited. POPPY SALES The Marlette VFW and Ladies Auxiliary #4837 will be selling poppies May 8-10 in Marlette. Your donation will help a veteran or serviceman’s family in need. PORK DINNER Pork dinner at the Shabbona United Methodist Church Hall, Saturday, May 17, from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Free will offering. Proceeds to send children to Bay Shore Camp. FREE LUNCH A free soup and sandwich lunch will be served at First Presbyterian Church, 6590 W. Marlette at Lamotte St. on Friday, May 16, from 11:30 – 1. We will be serving Chicken Noodle and Vegetable Beef soups, Hot Dogs and Bologna with Cheese sandwiches. Assorted desserts will be available also. There are no restrictions or qualifications. All are invited. SPORTS PHYSICALS Sports Physicals, May 19 - 9 am to Noon at Marlette High School Laurie A Rousseau, DO of Marlette Family HealthCare and Rick Theurer, PA-C will conduct sports physicals. A potion of this cost will be donated back to Marlette School Athletic Program. MASONIC BRUNCH The public is welcome to attend the all-you-can-eat Masonic Brunch on Sunday, May 11 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Marlette Masonic Hall. Masonic brunch conducted second Sunday of every month. HOSPITAL AUXILIARY SALE Marlette Hospital Auxiliary is celebrating National Hospital Week by sponsoring the “Masquerade $5 Jewelry Sale on Friday, May 16 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the Medial Office Building. The public is invited. COMMUNITY PRAYER TEAM Looking to form a Community Prayer Team which will meet at Heaven Sent Community Ministries on Wednesdays to focus on praying for our pastors, families and individuals in the community. They are looking for suggestions and help. Tentative date is July 19 (Country Fair Days).
